Our Story

Dabney Hailey, a museum curator with a passion for sharing art’s relevance to contemporary society, launched Hailey Group in 2014 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with renowned museum educator Philip Yenawine as a founding consultant. Hailey aimed to bring together two worlds: the transformative experience of looking deeply at great works of art and the development of an equitable learning culture within the workplace.

She gathered a team with deep expertise across adult learning, business, the arts, healthcare, and human-centered design. Most team members consult with Hailey Group while pursuing careers in other arenas, keeping our thinking fresh, relevant and applicable.

Our Values

It’s a thrill to help people wrestle with and revel in the challenge of great art, then supply them with concrete tools to take that subtle thinking and empathic communicating back to their workplaces—and make those skills and mindsets stick.

We are committed to the idea that all voices should and can be heard, valued and respected. We believe employees should and can be truly, fully engaged and learning as they work.

Everything we do is rooted in research and tested through iteration, evaluation and application to real work. We teach through modeling and experiential learning, and we meet individuals where they are.
